favorites

Jordyn has followed the examples of others in our extended family by toting things in her mouth...thank you puppies! Jordyn has found a new love in trying to carry as many toys as possible while putting things in her mouth (I am sure this is a common occurrence-but so cute). She even tried to carry my parents dogs stuffed bear around the house! Don't worry this is not the only dog like thing she has learned-she also has tried to drink out of my sisters dogs water dish like a dog...so funny
Some more favorites-
corners
sleeping on her belly
kids
her five senses
laughing
dad
laundry
getting chased
Jordyn has been so fun! We never knew what we were missing!
Last week-ms jordyn had a rough week-she had a limp while walking-which lead to more crawling and whining. Luckily I work for a great doctor who saw her and diagnosed her with toxic synovitis. She has been starting to pick up the pace again...it was sad to watch her limp :( On Friday she was also lucky enough to catch pink eye. She was so cute with her eye glued shut-she seemed to not care. We are so lucky to have her and so lucky she doesn't get sick too often and when she does she is still happy!
PS-sorry the picture sucks-its easier to upload one from the phone then go get my sd card-LAZY!

sippy cups

Tonight-a sippy cup like this...

saved me from pulling my hair out!

Last week I decided to wean J from her bottle...cold turkey (not too sure I will do that again). When I stopped nursing her in November I tried milk in a sippy cup and she was not interested at all...so I just gave her the bottle. I liked the bottle cuz I could still snuggle with the cute little 'baby.' Well I went and spent a half hour looking at sippy cups at our lovely wal.mart...and decided that J really liked straws, so I got one. Well negative, along with every other sippy cup I tried...I even tried chocolate milk and a regular cup...no milk for a whole week! Yesterday-my friend and coworker gave me these to try...for 6+ month. I thought that Jordyn would not like them-surprise! Here is to milk in J's tummy and a good night sleep!

I guess I don't have any pictures off my camera from recently. Maybe soon I will upload them!
We went to Provo River Falls in the fall before it got cold-super fun cuz the river and the falls weren't fast so we got to play in the water.

Splash-I didn't think mark was really going to take my pic

Jordyn lovin the water

Jordyn on her b.day-actually interested in the toy!

I don't think anybody reads my blog...partly because I don't update it. I really enjoy reading others blogs and I dont do well at journaling so I kinda miss out on what I am or my family is doing. Sometimes I feel I am bragging, I am not-I just give updates. I don't do anything fun...just do day to day things-and thats my life and I love it!
We have been up to the normal things...work and family. We really enjoyed the holidays with our families. I love both our families-totally different but totally fun! Work is the same for me, but just moved to full time :(-I still love my job, I wish I could find more common ground with work and being a mom. The office I work in is great, especially the doctor I work for (I really miss believe it or not the odd hours of working in a hospital). I can't wait till I can stay home more, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel! I have learned to enjoy to read and am working on creating lots of photo books so fun!
Marks work is the same...but we are moving up and he is FINALLY training to be an appraiser. This is why we moved to Evanston-finally after almost two years he is starting to do the training next week! He has decided he wants to do real estate and commercial appraising (I hope the market doesn't crash more) and since he is doing both it will take 3 years. With him doing both types of appraising he is commuting to Provo 2 days a week. I wish I could go with him! I am super excited he has decided what he wants to do as a career, just anxious to see how I am going to do as being a full time worker and mom with him being gone alot more. I am grateful he gets to train.
Jordyn is growing so big...she is still very petite but is getting all grown up. She is about sixteen pounds (yes still in her baby car seat) and is getting more steady on her feet. She really loves talking and her favorite word is "ya." This is great cuz she tells me I am a great mom and that daddy spanks her! She also likes to say book, baby, and more. She is so stinking cute. She also got her first baby so we can teach her to be nice to babies-she likes to hug and kiss them!
I broke my camera-but I have since got one....I will post some pictures of this cute little girl next time I remember. I hope you all are doing well!

sweet summer time

The weather keeps telling me that summer is over...BOO! We have had the heater on in the house twice now in the last week! I must tell you I am a proud mama...with Jordyn's 9 month stats...
14 lbs 12 oz.......10th percentile
26.5 inches and her head are both in the 25th percentile (hallelujah-she is growing)

we love our little petite girl, she never stops and is so much fun. Enjoy some pics from summer!

We laid sod in the back yard (if you can call it that) we love playing in it and i guess eating it

Jordyn loves pulling out the wipes of course

Backpacking and mark saying quit taking pictures! we went on a 14 mile day hike-i would not have gone if i knew it was that long!

mmmm....pinecones

the bus were bad so J stayed in a bug net while we were outside...and no bites

Marks backpacking trip with the boys

he tried to bring me this bouquet of flowers home but lost it...I was bummed i couldn't go, i really like where the went.

Bear Lake...Jordyn doesn't like the water so much, unless its her bath tub, but boy did she enjoy the sand

on the move

Jordyn is on the move! I knew this stage was coming far too fast when she started trying to crawl. For the past few weeks she would sit lay down rollover and sit up to get where she wants, so cute! Last week, a couple days shy of her 8 month birthday, she is crawling! She is nuts! It it so fun to watch her come closer when she wants, she is so smart. She is also pulling her self up everywhere. Today I went to put some laundry away and when I came back she was standing with help of the door. This week she has a major runny nose, like a waterfall from her nose. I look like snot mom today (thanks to my black t-shirt), and she looks like snot girl with her hair pulled up and snot everywhere. I try to clean it up, but of course she hates it. I blame our camping trip last week! I can't wait to post some pics!

Random pictures

Sometimes I would think people were goofy for hauling their camera's around, everywhere! I am starting to think I wish I could be like one of those people! Here are a few random pictures that I have taken from the last while! (ps I feel guilty I do not take more, but sometimes I admit that I wouldn't know what to do with them, I hope Jordyn will forgive me!)

Happy daddy's day, she sure is a daddy's girl! Her funnest playmate and the disciplinarian!

Jordyn and I hanging out in the truck while daddy fished and canoed at Meek's Cabin for my mom's family get together!

Jordyn loves her playtime! Dump the toys and leave me alone!

A couple weeks ago I went and got Jordyn's hair cut (i know some may disagree), I just couldn't handle the mullet anymore. These are picture with, and above with an nice cute kinda a-line. One day mark will take the pictures off my phone so we can have them forever.

Jordyn's first veggie experience.

We took Jordyn swimming in May, she didn't like it as you can tell! I think the kiddie pool was too cold (the kids didnt pee enough in it :D). She liked it after watching everyone for awhile.

Jordyn's first fishing trip. She did pretty good and loved catching a couple fishes!

blogs

I love reading everyone else's blog, not mine! I have zillions of pictures, however I am trying to learn how to digital scrapbook. It has been fun, when I can figure it out! Meet project 3...

I also have some AWESOME news-I am officially a certified CT technologist! I started in July of 09 in hopes to get done before Jordyn came, however that obviously didn't happen! I finished my clinicals (the bare minimum-I didn't like commuting 90 minutes do do free clinical hours) in February, and took the test in May. If I had a PRN job, that would be great, but no holding my breath since the hospital here is on a hiring freeze.

Jordyn is 7 months old-growing so big and getting so much more active (mark would say fun). She is still itty bitty at her 6 month check up her stats were 12 pounds 13 ounces (5th %), 24.5 inches (10th %), and her head 10th % as well. She is trying to crawl and is pulling her self up on anything her height!

I guess blogger is too tired to put my pictures on tonight, and telling me that work comes too early to wait. I'll post some pictures soon

growing...

My goal was to put some cute pictures of this adorable girl before Stephanie and Kellie had their babies, I have a couple weeks, if that! I'll keep it short and to the point...
*Mark is loving work and loves living close to family. He is also loving that the remodel is almost done. We just need to paint the doors and cover up nails on the trim...I never thought I would have let him gut the place. But, it has been really fun. I am not here to brag, just grateful we have a place to live!

This is the master bedroom, its so homey! The rest of the house is beautiful too!

*Me...I am enjoying being mommy 24-7 this week, the office is closed for spring break, which should have been called winter break. I love my job, I have the best doctor to work for and manager, I would venture to say I have got my dream job! I hope to start taking call for the hospital hrere...but they all very rural stlll...film!! bla!!

*Jordyn is the center of our life (as most kids are), we love it! She is now 4 1/2 months old and is doing great! At her 4 month check up, she was 11lbs 13 oz (almost double her birth wt) 22 3/4 inches long, both in the 10th percentile...just petite! She is already rolling over and very close to sitting up by herself, she is so big!!

mommies

You know when your pregnant and you get thousands of words of advice. You always heard how great it was and how hard it was going to be and you kindly nod your head thinking I know, but I will be different. I didn't know hard meant what it did! Being a mom has been an incredible blessing, I am ever so blessed. I can't believe I have one of my Heavenly Father's spirit in my home to raise! Being a mom is such a balancing act! I learned how to be a wife, I am learning how to be a mom, I am now learning how to be a wife and mom at the same time. It has been an interesting lass 4 months with a new baby and trying to save the world. I have now learned alot. Children definitely add alot to a family, what would we live for? I have also learned it is important to be me, by myself, be a wife, be a good mom. I know I can never be the best, but I think its important to try and have goals. Sometimes I get frustrated cuz Jordyn is getting bigger and Im not soaking it in, I am not a pic nazi cuz I dono what to do with them....and so on. I suppose who you want to be takes so much work and dedication its tiring. I think every day we can achieve something better than yesterday, but not get disappointed in what we didn't do. I am grateful to be a mommy to such a beautiful girl and a wife to such a loving, patient husband. I am so happy to have my family forever! And if I may say to all mommies...amen to your advice!

Not much is going on here. We are just working, enjoying being parents, and finishing up the remodel! Jordyn is already more than 2 months old! She is in the 25th percentile for head circumference, weight, and height! The doctor is pretty impressed how proportional she is :) She weighs as 8 lbs 9 oz (size of a newborn) but she is growing great! Here are a few pictures of our lives, well just from Christmas (obviously) and her blessing.

Our first family photo and baby's first Christmas

My favorite baby Jordyn!

This is one of Jord's cousin who is 3 weeks younger and is like a monster compared to her. They enjoyed sleeping by eachother!

A cute picture of my parents grandkids!

Jordyn's beautiful blessing dress (baby acne showed up on the right day huh?)

Can you separate your toe like that? But an adorable picture!
Hope all is well

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

You would think I would make time for this, however I obviously don't! It has been so much fun being a mom that I can't seem to do anything except hold and look at Jordyn. I know you don't want to hear me babble, but see pictures of Jordyn...too bad you get a little of both. :)
Labor was not too bad (praise the high heaven for epidurals). I was 2 days overdue, so frustrating...my mom had to tell me that I was in labor cuz I didn't notice that I was. I celebrated Jordyn's due date at work with the doc and my manager and then the next day 'celebrated' by cleaning my house and cooking dinner for my family. Not long after they left, my contractions started being about 5 mins apart consistently. I was too stubborn to leave, but Mark insisted on it, so I followed. He made me sit on a walmart sack in case my water broke on our 100 mile drive (please laugh if you know mark). We got to UVRMC at 1030 and I was dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced. My mom didn't think they would turn me down being that far...surprise they did. They sent us home at midnight. Luckily Marks brother lives 20 miles away. But we got there and went back to the hospital at 4 am...grudgingly...we actually sat in the car for an hour cuz we didn't want to be sent home again. They ended up keeping me, thank heavens...and little baby Jordyn was born at 302 pm, without a doctor at my feet! We enjoyed, mostly I enjoyed seeing all of my friends who came to visit us at the hospital, even though I looked frumpy.
Life has been great since then. Jordyn has been a great baby, sleeping in the night well since we got home. There has been a few nights that we have got 6 hours of continuous sleep :) At her 2 week check up she was in the 25th percentile for height and weight...we are hoping she starts growing like a weed soon (kinda). She also weighed 6 lbs 7 oz :D She loves to be snuggled and likes bath time until she is man handled. Mark likes her alot, he is such a great dad! She is officially a month old...and I can't believe how time flies. She is adorable, and yes she still has all of her hair! On the 19th we were doing our daily tummy time...and she rolled over...twice! It is so fun to watch her grow.
Jordyn is also spoiled and has got 2 new cousins the past month...although they are boys she can't wait to meet them. They are both bigger than she is...one born 3 weeks after and the other born one month! We can't wait to meet them both!
As for me...work starts in 2 weeks and I have started back doing a little bit of clinical. I can't wait to be done with clinicals :) Hope you enjoy the pics and have some happy holidays!!!

The first week home!

Jordyn and I like to snuggle and she likes to sleep on her side...

my favorite picture so far!

If you ask her questions, she raises her hand...lol

How can anyone not love her...JOKES!

Jordyn Lynn Hughes!

Jordyn was born on Sunday afternoon at 3:02 PM. Mandi would like everyone to know that she guessed the exact time the baby would be born when we guessed times during the middle of the delivery. She was 5lbs 15oz and 17.5 inches long. Everything went very well and the baby is healthy and has had no problems despite how small she is.

This is her first picture after getting all the YUCK cleaned up

The car ride home after a long few days at the Hospital.

Sorry this post is short, but wanted to get these pics posted for everyone to see all the HAIR :)

Procrastination

I am really good at this...considering the only people that probably read this are my long lost friends from Provo. I would say that life is the same, CRAZY! I think during this last 6 months I have tried to stress myself out to the max...pregnancy, school, work, moving, buying our first home and remodeling, a new job...and who knows what else! But here are just a few things that have kept me sane the past month.

My GREAT x-ray school friends all went out to dinner! It was so fun to get together again and probably will be the last time in forever

My great office friends from Provo threw me an awesome baby shower as well. I miss these gals like crazy...3 1/2 years and then I move!

All of these girls have given me a reason to be happy to come down to Provo to do clinicals for CT and to come to the doctor. It makes the drive much better when I get to see faces of those I LOVE!

Our remodel is coming along...kinda slow, but seems more quick now. I guess I shouldn't have expected alot moving at 28 weeks and thinking I was wonder woman by working, doing school, and growing a baby full time! But we have almost got the upstairs done (just need one more coat of paint in the hall). We have painted, tiled, grouted, and moved in upstairs. Thank heavens for our families, or else we would probably still just be painting the first bedroom. Here are a few glimpses of what we have done. The final pictures won't be as fun if I post what we have done without the complete project!

Meet dad, he is an AWESOME painter

Meet mark sideways, (yes I am too lazy to go flip it) this was the first wall he had painted

Meet meg and I...we were an excellent painting team...mark thought we had to tag team it so we could use both brains while inhaling paint fumes!

Baby update:
Well baby is still growing and so is mommy. I am getting completely uncomfortable, and almost useless with this remodel thing (I really jsut want the painting done before she gets here, but Ill take what I can get). The doc says not to plan on the baby anytime soon. I am anxious to see my progress every check up to know if I am getting closer! We still have no names except baby, but I don't think the boys will dig that in high school :) Until my next post after procrastination...maybe the cute little mini mandi will be here :)
